The Science curriculum in grades Kindergarten
through 8th is grouped into four areas: Life Science, Earth
Science, Physical Science, and Health. Many of the health topics
are incorporated into the Physical Education curriculum. Each
grade introduces, develops, or masters the area of the Science
curriculum. St. Joseph the Worker School has a well equipped
Science Lab with a Smartboard that can be used by the Intermediate and
Middle School students to perform lab experiments using the scientific
method.
The students in the Primary Grades are taught through units and
integration into other subject areas, enhanced with such resources as
"Let's Find Out," a Scholastic published periodical for younger
students. In the 21st century it is imperative that we prepare our
students to face the challenges of living in a highly scientific society.
